Wireless LAN & CCIP Training

Huhuhu...

Finally managed to get the Wireless LAN card. Well, it's USB, so it's not really a card. That's good enough. At least, won't stuck somewhere network-less....

Have a look. BTW, Level One is the brand name of the product...

11g 54 Mbps Dongle USB Adapter

" The LevelOne’s WNC-0301USB is a wireless USB dongle adapter with the newest wireless technology to deliver data rates up to 54Mbps at 2.4 GHz. This device is fully compliant with IEEE 802.11g and backward compatible to 802.11bwith automatic rate selection for reliable wireless data communication to build extension possibilities and to protect your original network investment.
The device supports UPnP standard, you can easily and quickly install the adapter into any desktop or notebook with the setup wizard and the hot-swappable USB interface. Like LevelOne’s other wireless adapter, the WNC-0301USB can be used in the infrastructure mode by connecting the wireless AP or router to the internet seamlessly or in Ad-hoc mode to connect with other wireless computers for file sharing. Moreover, this wireless adapter can be acted as an access point that allows peer-to-peer communication among any wireless users to share the Internet resources. p/s : The Linksys that I've mentioned before in the previous post is not sold here in Malaysia. Well, at least that's what the vendor told me!

Managed to give it a try a.k.a downloading stuff, chatting, e mailing, surfing etc... and it works great! Why Level One? I don't know... maybe trying to be or get something different...

CCIP Training

Well, next week will have to start my training on CCIP (Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional). So for the next whole week, I won't be in the office. I hope it's going to be a fun experience... and the wireless network is working. Otherwise, the same story of "couldn't-check-emails-because-can't-access-the-network" like in Perth won't happen again

Just a snapshot of what are the courses under CCIP...

642-801 BSCI
Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI)
642-642 QOS Implementing Cisco Quality of Service (QoS)
642-661 BGP Configuring BGP on Cisco Routers (BGP)
642-611 MPLS Implementing Cisco MPLS (MPLS)

In short... :-

BSCI - How to build and make sure that your network won't fucked up later. At least keeping it at minimum...
QoS - How to make sure that your network is fully-utilized, especially for working purposes. Well, if you allow porn & P2P, don't come and scream at us and asking why your network is slow...
BGP - How to make sure that one Service Provider can "talk" to another. ..
MPLS - How to... errr... uhhmmm... find it yourself lah... ;-)

The class that's I'll attend next week is BSCI. They said the instructor is one of the best in Asia (or is it in the world?). But who cares? As long as I could pass the exam with flying colours, that's good enough...

So, next week, if you guys see any recent updates, remind me that I'm in a class. Well, whether or not I'll listen and obey, that's another story! Hey, no harm trying OK? :-D

ALERT!!!!

Hmmm....

For the last 48 hours, life is not as beautiful as it used to be for the last 2 years. We had a major controversy with one of our main customer. Seems like there are high chances that we are going to lose them, although the real reason of the problem is yet to be determined. And it's not good for us either, since somehow it affect our motivation to do our normal job properly.

Well, people said that life is like a wheel. Sometimes you're at the top, sometimes you're not. If the temperature is right, you can do a lot of amazing stuff. If not, your performance would be like an Olympic ski jump (sounds like F1 to me...!)

To my colleague, I salute you guys for doing a great job! I think it's time to focus to our normal working life and I don't even have a slightest idea to blame you for anything. I believe you have done a right thing, and I don't think you can do much better than that. It's our job to help customers, but everything must have a limit...

Some so-called blogging....

Today I'm not posting anything because I'm celebrating "I'm-not-in-mood-to-update-my-blog Day"

*you are posting something right now you maggot!*

Yeah... I know...

Maybe tomorrow I'll post something... constructive...

Hopefully.... :-)
